DIY Hand Sanitizer

by Katie Bock

Many store bought hand sanitizers are skin drying and packed with chemicals.  I wanted to make my own safe alternative that I was comfortable allowing little ones to use.  I did some research and ultimately came up with this recipe.

What you need

How to make it

  1. Fill bottle half way with Aloe Vera Gel.

  2. Add 10 drops of Lavender and 10 drops of Melaleuca.

  3. Fill the rest of the bottle with water.

  4. Shake well and there you have your Home made safe and effective Hand Sanitizer.

Be sure to shake up before each use.

Why chose these ingredients?

Aloe Vera Gel- Is gentle on the skin and does not cause drying.

Lavender is calming, healing and good to use with skin irritations.

Melaleuca fights against unwanted bacteria and/or pathogens and has purifying, germ destroying properties.  Allowing the cleansing of the hands.

Share below your reasons to make your own Hand Sanitizer 🙂
