How to Avoid Spiritual Bypassing
Spiritual bypassing has been a hot topic this year and rightfully so. A year full of emotional events. The question is have you been allowing yourself to feel or have you been avoiding certain feelings?
Spiritual bypassing is the avoiding, repressing, downplaying or bypassing of certain emotions. Sometimes we don’t even realize that we are doing it. When you avoid feeling what you truly feel in the moment you bottle it up to explode later. Avoiding doesn’t make the feeling go away and pushing to just feel good doesn’t make the feeling disappear. Its good to feel good its also important to feel the full spectrum of emotions that come up for you. In a world where toxic positivity reins supreme its hard to feel safe to feel.
I want you to know I am telling you today it is safe to feel. Create space, breathe and allow. You know what you know, trust yourself instead of avoiding, repressing or bypassing.
This week I challenge you to become aware of where maybe you are spiritual bypassing, yourself or others. Create space and remind yourself its okay to feel. And breathe, breathe, breathe.
